What we make

Film work with a strategy underneath it

Every production starts with the question the brand needs answered, not with a shot list. That’s what changes when your film studio and your strategy team are the same people.

Brand films

The story of who you are, told well enough that people remember it. Single-day shoots through multi-day productions, from concept and script to color and delivery.

Commercials and TV

Broadcast and digital spots built to sell, with the positioning work already done before the camera comes out. We handle development, production, and versioning for every placement.

Documentary

Real people and real events, treated with the patience they deserve. We produce client documentary work and independent films under the same roof.

Narrative and short film

Scripted work: short films, web series, and music videos. The craft lane that keeps the whole studio sharp.

Testimonial and social video

Customer stories and the ongoing content your channels need, produced in batches so the quality holds without the per-piece price of a full production.

Why we exist

Why a brand agency runs a film studio

Most video production starts with a brief written by someone who won’t be on set, gets handed to a production company that wasn’t in the strategy room, and comes back looking like everyone else’s video. The message drifts because the people filming it never knew what the message was for.

LC Studios exists to close that gap. Let’s Canoe sets the brand strategy first, and Studios is where that strategy becomes something you can watch. The director who shoots your film is the strategist who helped decide what your brand should say. Nothing gets lost in a handoff because there is no handoff.

It’s also why we film things nobody paid for. Independent documentary and narrative work keeps the craft honest, and it’s the reason the gear list runs deeper than a marketing agency has any business owning.

Questions

LC Studios FAQ

What is LC Studios?
LC Studios is the film and video production arm of Let’s Canoe, a brand agency in Billings, Montana. We produce brand films, commercials, documentaries, narrative work, and social video, and we rent lighting, grip, and camera equipment to productions filming in Montana.
How is LC Studios related to Let’s Canoe?
Same company, same senior team. Let’s Canoe sets the brand strategy, and LC Studios is where that strategy becomes film. The person directing your video is the strategist who helped set the position it needs to communicate, so nothing gets lost between the strategy room and the set.
What kinds of video do you produce?
Brand films, television and digital commercials, documentaries, narrative shorts, testimonial videos, and batched social content. Project types, scopes, and timelines are detailed on our Montana video production page.
How much does video production cost?
It depends on the scope: single-day social video shoots start around $1,500, and multi-day brand films, commercials, and long-form documentary work scale from there. We scope every project on a free call, and our Montana video production page covers what drives the price.
Do you rent lighting and grip equipment?
Yes. Our cinema lighting, grip, and camera gear is available for rent, with or without crew. Productions from A&E, Showtime, PBS, Mother Jones, House Hunters, FOX Sports, and USA Today have used our equipment and people while filming in Montana.
Where do you film?
We’re based in downtown Billings and film across Montana, Wyoming, and the wider region. We travel for productions when a project calls for it.
Who directs the work?
Brian Murnion, founder of Let’s Canoe, directs most Studios productions, with a crew of directors of photography, camera assistants, grip and electric, and audio engineers assembled to fit each production. The credits on the work above name the crews.
How long does a video project take?
A single-day shoot with a defined concept typically delivers within a few weeks. Brand films and commercials run longer because development, production, and post each get real time. Documentaries follow the story, so their timelines vary the most. We set the schedule in the scoping call and hold to it.
Can I see more of your work?
The films on this page are a start, and the LC Studios YouTube channel carries behind-the-scenes work, Studio Shorts, and video essays. Client outcomes tied to the films live on our work page.
How do I start a video project with LC Studios?
Book a free fit call. We’ll talk through what the video needs to do for the business, what scope fits the budget, and what the timeline looks like. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so on that call.
